Margot and Bev, two long-time friends, were just finishing a Sunday brunch on the lanai of Margot’s Florida home when the conversation turned to tennis—as it invariably did between these women.

Then, after a brief pause, she asked, “What was that web address again?” Margot and Bev had a favorite website where they did all their shopping for women’s tennis clothes, but Beverly could never remember the URL. Margot chuckled a little and answered, “It’s bookmarked. Just go into my favorites, and you’ll see it.”

A few minutes later, after Margot had rinsed all the brunch dishes and put them in the dishwasher, she joined her friend in the den. She pulled up a chair alongside Bev at the computer desk. “What do you think of these?” Bev asked.

She was already shopping away, and the question referred to a pair of K-Swiss women’s tennis shoes displayed on the computer screen. “Oh, those are nice!” Margot beamed. “I like the pink accents—very feminine. Let’s keep browsing though. They might have something that will match our team tennis dresses better.”

“You wouldn’t be so judgmental if you knew what we were shopping for,” Margot cautioned. “We were thinking of choosing a pair of shoes to go with the team’s dresses. You want new shoes, don’t you Tammy?”

Tammy was also a member of their tennis team, and—like most women—would jump at any opportunity to get a new pair of shoes. Tammy quickly pulled up another chair on the other side of Bev and said rather sheepishly, “So, what are we looking at?” Margot and Bev giggled at Tammy’s immediate turnabout, and then Bev asked, “What do you think of these, Tammy?” “Oh, rock on!” Tammy exclaimed. “Mommy, will you buy them for me?” she asked in a mock whine.
