The Tennis Performance Dress has a printed and stitched floral pattern with boxed pleats in front and back, giving it a very streamlined look whereas the skirt is the flounciest (if that's a word) skirt Stella has ever created. Both are selling well and the skirt is starting to sell-out in certain sizes, but I expect to find the line in other places, giving us more options to buy this wonderful line of tennis clothes.
The colors are white, alloy and slate green. The collection has just been launched so all sizes are available at the moment, but as adidas by Stella McCartney is a designer label, once it's sold out it might not be re-stocked. This happened to Stella's last tennis dress showcased at the US Open by Carolone Wozniacki which 'flew off the shelves', so don't delay!
Stella's tennis dresses, skirts, and tops don't come with attached bras or shorts so make sure you buy these two as well. Both have a tight fit and localized meshing added to adidas' famous ClimaCool® fabrication to make sure you stay cool and comfortable throughtout your time on court.
It looks as if Stella McCartney is looking forward to Wimbledon. So far most of her new collection is white but she is one of the few tennis fashion designers to make white interesting. The Cover-Up Embroidered Tee is very much like her new Tennis Dress, where it is both printed and embroidered. The Performance X-Static Tank has silver threads running through which not only looks good but also protects your skin from bacteria. It's drawstring also allows you to style it any way you like.
The polo and racerback are classic so they will never become outdated. Also, white is a good choice because you never know when you might play at a club like Wimbledon that has strict dress rules.
The Stella Performance Tennis Jacket
Worn Open or Closed, it Still Looks Great
This lightweight cotton tennis jacket was worn by Caroline Wozniacki wore in the warm weather of Dubai. This adidas by Stella McCartney tennis jacket is already difficult to find online and the season has just begun. Clearly it will be more sought after in a few weeks. It also comes in Alloy but I haven't found that color jacket yet, but I expect to see it soon available to buy online.
The Stella Cover-Up Hoodie would look so good with the new white skirt and white X-static tennis top. Perfect for Wimbledon!
Last year adidas by Stella McCartney produced a remarkable tennis shoe, the Skynde. What was so remarkable about this shoe is that at it's core it was an adidas Barricade V, the world's most popular tennis shoe. The only difference was that this shoe was designed by the notable fashion designer, Stella McCartney. This meant women needn't sacrifice function for style.
This year they have brought out the Lucrari Tennis Shoe. Also tooled exactly like the Barricade V but incorporating beautiful styling. This year's shoe has a tough mesh upper and a pretty White/Lead/Blush Red color scheme. This is the shoe Caroline Wozniacki wears and everyone knows a player of her stature would not give up looks for performance. Both shoes are available in a good selection of sizes and a medium width.
Stella McCartney's New Tennis Shorts
These Performance Tennis Shorts are interesting for at least two reasons; one is the extremely feminine pleats in front, while the back is almost military in styling. Another is that (so far) this is the only item of tennis clothing in the new Stella Spring/Summer collection to be the old Pearl Seed color. That's what makes tennis fashion so fascinating, how the old and the new inevitably meet to create a fashion that is 'now'.
Even though Stella McCartney's fashion is based in the UK it's been difficult to find Stella Tennis to buy if you don't live in the US or Canada. Now there is a merchant who is based in the UK but delivers to Europe and the rest of the world for a reasonable delivery fee. The UK is free delivery for purchases over 75 GBS (£), but the rest of the world's highest delivery fee is £12. That is a bargain indeed. Expect more adidas by Stella McCartney tennis styles to become available from this trusted merchant.
The baby of the group is the Brevitas Bag. No one is going to get a tennis racquet in here, but who cares? It's the perfect little bag that will look good anywhere. It's a mere 6" wide, 2" deep, and 9" high, weighing in at 9oz. Not a heavyweight.
The Bursa is termed a 'shoulder bag'. It's a pretty big one, that's for sure. It's dimensions are 20" wide, 11" deep, and 20" high. It weighs a quite reasonable 13 oz., making it the perfect easy carry tennis or gym bag.
This is the first backpack I can remember adidas by Stella McCartney has designed, so if you remember another please send me an email (my email is on my Contact page). I think this should do the job as an easy to carry tennis backpack. It measures 15½ wide, 7" deep, and 15½" high, and weighs 28 oz.
Here is the Sersa Bag. It's hard to believe but this is Stella's hobo bag. Hobo with Art Deco flair. This bag could fit a racquet, though it might be better to keep the racquet in a single bag. This is the one that calls to me. By the way, it measures 22" wide x ¼" deep x 22" high and only weighs 8 oz.
Now we get to the bigger bags, bags designed for carrying your workout clothes, and what every else you might need as an athlete. This medium Pilco bag is the only one in 'Lead', a very striking dark grey and green. The measurements are 20" wide x 9" deep x 10" high, and weighs 32 oz. This bag is built for business.
The Pilco large is a convertible cross body bag it's strong but confortable to carry anywhere, even on board an airline. It has a convertible cross body strap, just like the medium, and it measures 22" wide x 10" deep x 14" tall and weighs 39 oz.
This is the bag most tennis players are going to love, the Delibuta Bag. The 'Running White' color will go with any tennis outfit. It's also the largest of the adidas by Stella McCartney Bag collection and will hold all you need for court or after that great match.
