Margot & Beverly Source Tennis Skirts For Their Club Girls Tennis Team Online
Margot And Beverly
“I’m so glad we went with tennis skirts and tops for the girls,” Beverly commented to her long-time friend and tennis partner, Margot. “Me too!” Margot replied. “They’re going to look so cute on the court!”
The two women were coaching their country club’s junior tennis team and had been in charge of selecting and ordering the team’s uniforms. They were also the captains of the women’s tennis team and had chosen that uniform as well, although they had opted for tennis dresses for the women. This particular Sunday afternoon found Margot and Beverly sitting on Beverly’s lanai sipping iced tea and waiting for Beverly’s daughter, Clarissa, to change into her uniform and come downstairs.
“You know,” Beverly began after taking a drink from her glass, “some of the other club members have been asking me where you and I are getting all these stylish tennis skirts and other tennis clothes. They say they have trouble finding anything other than the traditional white tennis skirt in sporting goods stores.”
“And did you give away our secret?” Margot asked curiously. “I almost didn’t want to!” Beverly exclaimed with a giggle. “After all, you and I are certainly the best dressed tennis players at the club. We don’t want the other ladies encroaching upon our territory, but I didn’t have the heart to sentence them all to more shopping excursions that only end in frustration.”
“So you told them?” Margot probed. “I did,” Beverly sighed. “I told them how easy and convenient it was for us to get all the team tennis apparel for the women and the girls online. I told them our favorite web address and how they’d be able to find all the trendiest tennis skirts and other clothes there in addition to traditional white tennis skirts.
I said the website offered everything from pleated tennis skirts to Peachy Tan tennis skirts—and all other major brands: Nike, Wilson and adidas—in a full range of colors. I completely spilled my guts! Now everyone’s going to be showing up at the club looking as good as we do.”
“Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time,” Margot lamented. “You can’t look this fantastic forever without people asking questions and wanting to imitate you.” “How true,” Beverly agreed.
“Ahem,” the two women heard a small voice when Clarissa emerged on the lanai wearing her new tennis skirt and shirt. Having solicited her mother’s and Margot’s attention, she immediately regretted the action as they cooed and fawned over her for what felt like ages.
“Oh!” Beverly gasped, “Doesn’t she look darling?” “Oh, Bev, she’s just like a little racquet-wielding cherub!” Margot cried out. “How does it fit, sweetie? Is it comfy?” Beverly questioned her child in the typical fashion of a mother. “It’s fine, Mom,” the girl groaned. “Can we go now?” “Oh, don’t be such a sourpuss! Go get your bag, and Margot and I will meet you in the car,” Beverly instructed Clarissa.
About twenty minutes later, the three of them pulled up to the country club where Margot and Beverly would be coaching the first practice of the girls’ tennis team. They were really anticipating seeing the other girls in their tennis uniforms as well.
As they approached the tennis court, it seemed as though they were walking into a congregation of little pink fairies. The uniform that Margot and Beverly had chosen for the girls consisted of a pink tennis skirt and a tennis top that was a few shades lighter pink than the skirt with a crocheted butterfly detail near the waistline.
“Oh my gosh, they are the cutest things I have ever seen!” Beverly beamed as they walked onto the court. “I may have to order a pink tennis skirt of my own when I get home today!” “Don’t you dare!” Margot shrieked, “I was already thinking the exact same thing!” “I guess we’ll see who gets to her computer first.”
Beverly extended the challenge. Then, she called out to the kids, “All right, girls, line up on one side of the court. Miss Margot and I are going to come by and look at your grip.”
Later that evening, Margot was in her den enjoying her nightly espresso in front of her computer and browsing a selection of tennis skirts online. She had just found a Nike tennis skirt that was available in pink and similar in style to the one the girls’ team had when her phone rang.
Instinctively, she knew it was Beverly, so she answered the telephone saying, “I already found the one I want, I’m totally buying it!” “Is it the Nike?” Beverly inquired. “Maybe,” Margot answered cautiously, “okay, yes. Why? Did you already buy it?” “No, but I’m looking at it right now,” Beverly chuckled. “I kind of like the red tennis skirt with the animal print ruffle, though. Are you still getting pink?” “Yeah, I like the pink,” Margot confirmed. “You’re getting red, then?”
The two friends talked and laughed together over the phone as each placed an order for a new tennis skirt that would be shipped straight to their respective houses. This brought female bonding through shopping to a whole new level!
